I have been planning the Christmas gift guide for Cosmetic Candy for a week and I have been making a list (and checking it twice) today, in regards to Christmas and what presents I would have to waste my money on buy this year. I find gift buying very easy and it makes me deliriously happy to buy things for other people whether they want it or not. It doesn’t need to be Christmas to […]
It happened overnight. One day my skin was shiny like a…shiny thing, the next it was dry. And it got drier. And drier. Until it itched a lot and became red. Until people started asking me if I have eczema (I have a bit but not on my face). Oily skin I can live with. Dry skin I can’t. So the last few weeks I have had to change my skincare to hydrating products and […]

For ladies who don’t know, Sleek MakeUP is a drugstore or highstreet cosmetic brand sold exclusively at Superdrug (and some online outlets) in the UK. It began life as a range for darker skinned women (in terms of base – concealer, foundations etc.) but the colour products can, of course, be used with any skintone. I have noticed that they have recently expanded their base range so that there are options for lighter skins too. […]

I had a bit of a disappointing experience at the Trish McEvoy Counter (read about it here) and its been really interesting reading about peoples opinions on the matter (I will respond to comments over the weekend, promise!) Anyway – my poor experience was at the Trish Counter at Harvey Nichols. My usual counter is in Selfridges, The Trafford Centre where the staff are very nice. So much so, that when I was randomly chatting […]
So Twitter chat told me that there were two new Sleek Palettes out yesterday in Graphite and Sunset. I had no interest in the palettes but then there was so much chatter that I couldn’t resist. Off I went to my nearest Superdrug to pick up the two new palettes…yes….like a sheep: Have a look at the pretty palettes! Graphite was labelled as LE, Sunset wasn’t (in my local store anyway): Jump!
Mini Bourjois sure is cute and adorable, but I haven’t really been blown away with the range. Then when shopping for my friend, Musey, I saw these little pencils which are new to the range. Color Exciting Eyeliner! There are 8 shades in the range – they were just dumped on the stand so I picked out two, in purple 06 and gold 07. These are so dinky and cute. I love anything mini sized […]
I was googling RMK’s Recovery Gel to get more information on the product and guess what website came up? MINE! Yep – I totally forgot I had bought it a while ago – my initial reaction to it was good. I am revisiting it now – which is not something I normally do, because it has just fixed my skin. The recovery gel is an orange scented clear gel with little white hydration…erm….balls… Now, recently […]
I love liquid eyeliner, just love it. Get the right one and its easy to apply, and lasts all day. I bought this one from Kevin Beautymaker (a Taiwanese brand) from Beauty Eshop – a UK based store that sells Asian products. Love it – means I get my make up the next day! I picked up this Micro Fine Liquid Eyeliner (in black only) and its o.1mm………super fine! Want to see if it worked? […]
Paul & Joe is a brand I have a weakness for because it has such stunning packaging and concepts. I love their Eye glosses, Creamy Lipsticks and Pigments. For Winter 2009, they launched a gorgeous looking purple and gold packaged range called ‘Smoke and Mirrors’. In Asia this comes as a set (with the shadow, liner and case) but it the UK and US, like the mugs we are, we have to buy the products […]

Its nearly November…which means its nearly…C….C….Ch…Christmas… Have lots of lovely festive posts coming up although I am usually more of a Bah Humbug type. Done pretty much all of my Christmas shopping and got my paws on lots of Christmas collections. But I don’t want to overload you before its time to tell me in the poll:
A dark red pigment. What would you wear with this? Note: This image is part of the soon to be launched swatch gallery. Do not reproduce any of these images in any form for personal or commercial use without requesting permission. You can request usage by using the contact form.
So every so often (twice a week) I go freaky at work and decide I need a recreational make up shopping lunch break (if you are reading this Mr Candy, look away NOW). 2 weeks ago I went to Estee Lauder in Boots as they had a Gift With Purchase. Now – I generally don’t ever buy foundation without some research beforehand because if I don’t like it, I am stuck with it…. Anyway, Estee […]
Shiseido’s MAQUillage range must make the most consistently stunning lipsticks and glosses, ever. It took me a while to get my paws on their newest gloss, the Perfect Lipgloss, because the exchange rate is so poor. In the end it cost me something like £16. The Perfect Lipgloss is supposed to be transfer resistant (hence the model is holding a disposable coffee cup….makes no sense, I know). Four of the shades are from the Alexander […]
Kitty says Hai! Not had the chance to respond to comments yet, so many apologies but I will get them done this week. Its been hectic at work, its been hectic at home so if I have time, I tend to write some posts so that there is fresh content every day. So keep popping back, say Hai!
…..yes they do. You can blame OPI: Dare me?…………
What do you get when you crush and blend together 3 Disney princesses, a Tiffany’s counter, some glycerine and Tinkerbell’s wings? You get the sparkliest, most princessy lipgloss, ever. This gloss I bought from Trish McEvoy. Nope – didn’t have a great experience the last time I went on a Trish counter, but this purchase is from the time before…. I promised myself there would be no more lip glosses since they go off quickly […]
