So last week my mama called to say I had a mysterious package in a black envelope at home. Black envelopes = Illamasqua…but I hadn’t ordered anything. Turns out to be a lovely surprise as Illamasqua sent me one of their new Powdered Metals (released officially on the 13th July). When I heard powdered metals I presumed they were for the eyes but these are actually more all rounders – hair, skin, eyes, face. There […]

I just thought I’d share the product I am currently using. I test out a lot – and I mean a lot of skincare – from all kinds of companies and price ranges. At the moment this is what is working for me. My skin has been dry and sensitive, so although I love the idea of using Anti-Ageing products, I also need them to be quite natural. I also rotate but like I said, […]
I read a piece today on that high class rag, The News of The World about Primark, you know the shop I love to hate and their staff posting abuse about their customers. Article is here. Example: Meanwhile a women’s department assistant moans at “hefty” shoppers who need to “lose some f****** weight” instead of insisting they are a 16 “when they are obviously a 22 or 24”. They of course did it on a […]
There are so many types of suncream out there, the world is your oyster. I got some Simple Sun Sensitive care products a while ago and I have to say – its an excellent range. For one thing I don’t always react well to spf – it can give me the itches. I love pina colada scented sun protection but it makes my skin come up in hives! I need a range which is free […]
** Contains graphic images of feet. If you have an aversion to feet, peeling skin or badly applied fake tan then look away** So it began on a Friday night, as all good things do, when I got peckish. I started stabbing the other half in his chops with my foot, as I always do, “Get me a snack, get me a snack.” “Geez,” he replied “sort your foot out its rough!” Well, well, well. […]
I want to do another tutorial but what? I’m not much inspired by anything in particular. If you have any requests or ideas please let me know in the comments. (UPDATE: I decided to add a poll) Current tutorials are on here.
I made a little Helena Rubinstein haulage a while ago via eBay and fell in love. In a time when some make up brands are screaming and kicking like little kids trying to get attention, its nice to find a brand that is elegant, efficient, gorgeous… Demi Moore is the face of HR. She looks bootiful in the promo pics. Anyway I found this set online consisting of a duo and the Feline Intense Mascara […]
Hot weather has arrived in the UK – trust me it won’t last. But even so, with just a peek of sun I dashed out to get some sunglasses, dresses and flip flops. But what about the face? I need something with SPF. Something moisturizing as my skin has been dry, but non oily. Something with medium coverage. So I got this Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer and the new Touch Up Face Stick. Bobbi Brown, […]
I am always on the hunt for new, interesting things so slapped down my funds when I saw these goodies on Beauty Shop (A UK based site – all in Chinese but I always manage to muddle through and purchase). With the current exchange rate and the cost of international shipping and customs the slightly inflated prices of these goodies makes it work out quite well, and Beauty E Shop offer free SPECIAL delivery over […]
Babies & Rainbows, uh-huh – well Cosmetic-Candy had its busiest month ever in June so mucho gracias for visting and supporting this blog. Yes….this was just an excuse to post pictures of Baby Gomez!
Myface cosmetics is a range exclusive to Boots – they have some nice little gems on there. The Blingtones baby! You get three shades with the centre shade a super duper glittery, high metallic colour. There are quite a few to pick from but the blue and purple are just hawt! The two complimentary colours I have found are medium pigmented – but very easy to build up so its not an issue. They are […]
How did I, a non-fan of Fake Tans (although I am testing them because one must have an open mind as a beauty blogger, no?) end up with WAG’s favourite spray on tan from St. Tropez? Well, originally for the reason of testing, I ordered a fake bake mousse for £9 but the company contacted me, said they didn’t have it and would I like an upgrade to a £20 lotion or spray of St […]
I hate dealing with pigments on a day to day basis – they get everywhere but the best way to carry or use my many many loose powder shadows is to put them into those stackable pots. However – I was shocked when they charged me a whopping £4.60 for a 6 tier stackable – its EMPTY for christssake! Talk about taking advantage. Muji and Chemists also sell the empty stackable but I find them […]
I went mad a while ago and bought a ton of Skinfood make up which is hit and miss. I can’t question their sheer variety of goodies though. The Peach Sake range is one of the more talked about, coveted ranges. I can see why – it smells lovely and works quite well. The peach range is especially for pore care, and sebum control – thus removing oilies and tightening the pores. The Ice Mist […]
I love creamy compact foundations, although a good one is very hard to come by. I am a fan of Shiseido’s Hydro Power foundation but the smell…urgh. Purfume + Foundation = Fail I gave Boots No. 7’s Stay Perfect Foundation a go because its reasonably priced at £13.50: They Say: No7 Stay Perfect Foundation Compact contains our unique superior grade beautifying complex of soft focus pigments for ultimate coverage and translucency. Non-greasy and easy to […]
