How you been? I had a false bout of swine flu – but it actually wasn’t swine flu, just indigestion. How can they be confused? Well they just can! It’s been a busy-ish half productive, half unproductive week. What I have learned is that if you want something done, you have to take action. After feeling sorry for myself at the beginning of the week I did some ranting, kicking, karate chops and things are […]
Archives for April 2009
I had this stupid teacher at primary school – I forget her name but she had a turkey neck and was super bossy all the damn time. She used to use phrases that confused me all the time like, “Hold your horses” (What horses?) “It’s raining cats and dogs” (Where, where?) “Not in a month of Sundays” (There’s a month without Sundays?)* “[He thinks she’s the} Salt of the Earth” (Bitching about the headmaster, which […]
Oooh my exciting parcel arrived! Three Cle De Peau Extra Silky Lipstick and blush: The blush didn’t swatch very well but it is lush on – blends dreamily, looks like a bronzer but also works as a blush as the colour is dewy, soft. This is 120, 121 and 122: The nicest lipstick in the WORLD, with a price tag to match. Will do proper swatches later but these seem pretty sheer to me. My […]
Chanel’s White Essentiel range is a Asia exclusive – I’m not into whitening products – I don’t do ghostly but I do like brightening. This foundation has liquorice and vitamin c and corrects dark spots. It gives a pure, translucent finish and contains a SPF 20. I found this on eBay and bought shade 30 Cendre. Now I was playing pot luck there – I bought Pro Lumiere not so long ago and was matched […]
I still maintain that it’s rather odd to have a range of hairdye based on the hair colour of some dolls, but there you go. I know – I only dyed me hair a week ago but I decided I didn’t like it. You know when you bleach your hair it goes from being brown (if it was brown to begin with) through an orange stage nad if you are lucky to a nice, ashy […]
Just when I thought I owned every pointless item known to man… 1. Easiyo Yoghut Maker 2. A pair of scissors that shreds as it cuts 3. A doughnut maker 4. An electronic flea zapper comb 5. A core secrets ball and every single piece of exercise equipment I have ever bought from ‘As seen on Tv’ and the list goes on and on and on. I’ve had my eye on these Japanese Dariya hair […]
I still hate this palette with a passion, but I had to make it work. So here’s a quick EOTD: Breakdown: 1 – Highlight under brow bone 2 – Brown in crease 3 – Bright blue on lid 4 – Purple under the eye 5 – Dark blue under the lashes I guess the palette is ok, but I still concede that I NEED SHIMMER!
Dear Diary, For some reason, I have written various Screw You! posts about online shopping clothes store As Seen On Screen or ASOS. I’ve shopped with them for a long time now, must be coming up to 7 years but they have disappointed me so much over the last few, in terms of quality, customer service etc. etc. etc. But still I get suckered in – they sure do have a pretty (well not so […]
I’ve these lip scrubs for a few weeks and have only got round to a review now! Being not one to do things by halves I ordered all six flavours! Cinnamon Sugar – a sweet, cinnamony thick dark brown sugar paste: Peppermint – white sugar: Cocoa – Chocolatey good: Vanilla Bean: Almond Creme: Brown Sugar: Instructions: So basically this is a lip exfoliator. It’s main exfoliating component is good old sugar. There’s tons of product […]
Oh my god. So I have just discovered Forever 21. They ship internationally! I need to know, what’s hot to buy from them? What to avoid? Nice stuff? Ok quality? TELL ME!
I was just browsing eBay for random bits and bobs when what do I see? An image taken from the blog to sell an Illamasqua lipstick! For one thing, the shade is Scandal, not Salacious. I’m not sure how I should feel about this. Good publicity? Or just annoying?
One of my mother’s nicknames for me is ‘pouty lips’ because they are quite full and I sulk a lot. I never though of this as an asset until everyone starting pumping up their lips left, right and centre. Most of the pumpee’s I’ve seen look very duck like. I concur that god gave you what he gave you for a reason. Anyway, as full as my lips may be, they are terribly dry most […]
I nearly typed Sneek Peak instead of Sneak Peek – brain. not. working. Speaking of brain not working, I am currently watching Psychic-tv where a bizarre woman wearing purple; Call me, she says, Call me and I will prove I am psychic. For £1.50 per minute? I think not! Anyway, as I have mentioned before, the swatch gallery is in production but it isn’t a small job since I have thousands of pieces of make […]
I am still learning to get to grips with fake eyelashes. I have to get them perfect, if not, they go right in the bin. This happened to me on Saturday when I just couldn’t get them right – three pairs ended up in the bin because I just didn’t want to sit there picking the glue off them. So I want to know – do you keep your lashes or throw them away?
UPDATE: You can buy TheBalm in the UK from Zuneta. I am new to TheBalm – a cute retroey San Francisco brand which is new to the UK. You know what it reminds me of – Benefit! I don’t mind Benefit but I can’t say anything they have released lately has won me over either. When I saw TheBalm I was concerned it would be all style, no substance. I got three products, Hot Mama […]
I love notebooks! I have tons of them, half full, stacked up. Just thought I’d share two of my newest additions. I needed something small, and light because my current handbag is soooo heavy empty. The Orla Kiely is wonderful, it has lined, plain and squared pages. I’m going to use this for blog related stuff. The other one is for my writing. I was torn between Virginia and Welles (1984) but decided the ‘A […]
Have fun this weekend! How come I feel so discombobulated? Like I’m here, but not all here. Do add me on Twitter, it’s getting a bit more interesting! Check out the poll on the right in the sidebar – let me know what you want! I update around 3 times a day, have you kept up? Some posts of the week: Giveaway – Anastasia Brow Crap Clinique Mascara Even crapper customer service Kiss’s really cute […]
A few weeks ago I mad an investment and bought the Phillip Kingsley Elasticizer Extreme hair treatment. This babies cost £22 and it resembles a thick face cream. Full review here. The other thing I have been using on my sore scalp and hair is virgin coconut oil. I have a review of one particular brand coming up but you really don’t need to purchase anything too expensive just because it comes in a pretty […]
So our Susan Boyle has had a make over. They grey frizz has gone, and those brows, those glorious brows. I hope it was a make over of her own free will and not enforced by the Britain’s Got Talent Lot. Before she was like my dinner lady, the one who would sneak in extra custard. After she looks like….well, the mother in law. Either way, she’s still way hotter than that irritating bey-atch Amanda […]
Nars has a tropical collection together for the summer – documented here. I went to see the collection a few days ago. The two products that stood out to me was Tropic Solo Eyeshadow, similar to the Night series, super glittery, and the lipgloss, a cool tones mauve with gold. However, I am on a lip product ban, since I have far too many as it is. So I just bought Tropic: Tropic is described […]
